Karunanidhi asks police not to violate human rights

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi directed the state police force not to violate human rights while arresting and questioning those suspected of crime. Speaking at a meeting attended by district collectors and police Officials, Karunanidhi said: ‘The police force while arresting an accused or while interrogating should see that it does not violate the human rights of the individuals and should follow the advice of the government and courts.’ He said police should also ensure that custody death does not occur.
